When you’re ready, sir.
Final plot is already reached. Is like the first thing I’ve ever wrote here, but now on a puzzle+RPG+platform package. Many people I know seems to like the package combination. The main thing is to try to get stuff to get out, like seeking on ruined malls and buildings stuff to build something to escape.
A more detailed PDF will be released sometime soon, maybe after New Year holidays or something.
Ok, so, some mock-ups!
The first one is the title screen, note that the background is some random in-game image with some gaussian blur.
Second is the save/load game with the USF screen, the universal save file.
Third is part of the intro, with the dev’s labs/studios on the down right corner.
If you didn’t understood what “Revision 1B means”, is basically, a big change on everything.
I’ve recently thought on making an gigantic change on Project Richard’s Plot, and with a gigantic change, I mean, a really big one.
All the plot I had; an apocalyptic, deep and somewhat sad story isn’t gonna fit on the graphics I’m doing (I’m posting some mock-ups I’ve made recently), they’re two different things that doesn’t fit, at all.
Graphics are too soft, too innocent for the deepness that the plot has. Isn’t gonna work out.
But, as I LOVE the plot so much, I’m gonna do a little trick on the programming.
I’ll try, together with the main programmer, to make plot a modular thing. Like a script that can update the thing and have the actual plot being an optional, unlock-able thing or just the sequel/spin-off following in the series.
Also, one of the reasons I’m scraping this plot temporarily, is because it’s just too long for just one game. Not even the good ol’ games are too long. There’s too many sidequests to do and, with a limited time, good luck trying to 100% it.
About the new plot, man, I’m not sure what should I use. Because, for the platform I’m targeting, the game just, doesn’t fit. Maybe is just that there’s no real games on mobile phones, and maybe I should risk myself on trying it. But at least, as a backup option, I’ll have the modular system of development, and if the game fails, I’ll just change out plot’s, some graphics and re-try.
